Monday, 3/30, 7:30 pmEDT, Vance Gilbert’s Monday Night Acoustic Pajama Party #3 & EveryPetCounts.org

Hey VanceFans!

Dim the lights. Put your phone in airplane mode. Thassit, thassit... let’s get all Quiet Storm up in here.
Monday, 3/30, 7:30 pmEDT, Vance Gilbert’s Monday Night Acoustic Pajama Party #3 plans to soothe your crazy times with an evening of all cool ballads. His and other peoples. Mostly his. Maybe. I dunno. But no up-tempo stuff. Sad songs. Love songs. Quiet songs. Sunglasses. Pajamas. Check how laid back I’ll be. Chill, and cool...

It’ll be over at YouTube - https://youtu.be/a58IdI12wVk

This Monday’s Pajama Party 10% donation will go to a local organization I just found out about. I called my vet, he thought something wrong with my dog. “No”, I tells him, “I just want to ax you how to donate to your office for taking care of my dogs.” He throw me down one better:

THINGS OF NOTE

~ Neighbors gathered (spread out, of course) on our street, I jog by with Bessie and say, “Stay 12 feet back, I just tested positive and found out - I’m Black- you don’t want to catch this- your property values will plummet...I look back at hysterical laughing. One neighbor, here for 15 years, arms up over her head - “NOW you tell us...” #myjobdonetoday‬

~ Another neighbor I jogged past said there was a lot of “scare” about this from the media. I told him for once some of that hysteria is a good thing. After he told me about his 50 years of smoking, COPD, and finally losing 70lbs at 65, we got to talking about our “broken leg projects” - projects you’d take on if you had a broken leg. “I’ll file those papers if I had a broken leg”. Or, "I’ll re-do that lower bookshelf if I had a broken leg”. Now, with food, shelter, and some time, we are to be held accountable. He says “yeah, now I’m just trying to figure out how to break my leg…”

~ Neighbor’s shopping for each other to reduce the COVID-possible footprint, so Joe & Lisa’s daughter Sierra went to Trader Joes for both our families. My partner texts her a list. I clandestinely text the child to get me a box of Peanut Butter Cap’n Crunch on the sly and leave it by their steps. when they returned, bags are dropped on steps, thank yous all around, things are wiped down and taken inside. I don’t see any Cap’n. My partner goes inside, I look over at Sierra and she whispers loudly, “They were all out, and I didn’t think you wanted the ones with Crunchberries….”

You are absolutely correct, child. No Crunchberries. Clearly, I am not the only one who sees Peanut Butter Cap’n Crunch as penultimate comfort food. Remember the endless bowl of cereal? Adding milk to the remaining cereal bits. Oops, needs more bits for that much milk… (hmmmm it gets sweeter).
Ad infinitum.

~ To a friend who had lost her dog just the day before. Finally, I have words:

"You will be different. Every day. And somehow we continue to live even more deeply, isn’t that something?
Knowing a little bit who you are, you’ll wear this so beautifully. Not today, no. Or tomorrow. But you will. And until then my ❤️ breaks for you, E."
