As I was driving to the hospital for my pacemaker checkup appointment this morning at a very wee non-musician hour, I saw and heard a car blow the horn. All frustrated at the Food Link truck as it left the Food Link parking lot, no doubt heading to pick-up day-old food from some store and get it to people in need.
The truck, that is.

Aging, cancer, do these minivan seats in the rear really fold away, looking death in the face, why does this 2026 bound-to-get-dirty steering wheel have a sewn-on naugahyde cover, will the next scan come back clean, what will take me out when I go - sarcoma, heart stoppage, jogging in front of a lawn care truck I didn’t see?...and it dawned on me-

Food Link shouldn’t have to exist.

If we could feed and water the world they wouldn’t need their trucks. The Straight of Hormuz wouldn’t be an issue. Starving Gaza or Sudan wouldn’t be an issue. Religious extremism wouldn’t be an issue. Tyrannical rule wouldn’t be an issue. So many things wouldn’t be an issue if people weren’t hungry and thirsty.

Fed and watered people is the key. No religion or government or entity in the world can stop the fed and watered people.

Yeah, I said the things. But who am I? Some twice-survivored, half bearded, song-singing, model-making, origami pigeon with a revelation?
