When Juliana Walks

She had the screen door halfway open
Whe she said "I'll be back in a little while"
He smelled the leather of her going out shoes
Right then and there he knew that was a lie
She didn't need to click them three times either
Cause in her world
See you later means goodbye
And goodbye could be a really long time

He shouted out the window
"Who is it this time baby
That makes you feel so good?
Go on and tell him I was acting like a fool
And waking up the neighborhood"
She never even broke her stride
But underneath her breath she replied
"You could use to lose
A little bit more of your mind".

(chorus)
When Juliana walks
She makes the air in the room
Glitter and glow
Every molecule whistle and sigh
But when Juliana steps outside
It can only mean one thing
Juliana ain't coming home tonight

All his begging and crying
Might come across as somewhat undignified
And while desperation can't buy love
It can purchase a little bit of time
She'll ornament his arm for a while
Oblige him when he asks for a smile
And just when he gets used to her being his

(chorus)

All that sparkle
Shake and shimmer
She walks like heaven with no guarantee
You just can't keep her

He swears to his friends
That he's gonna change the locks this time
But you can set a clock
To when the porchlight starts to shine
The only thing keeping the neighbors up tonight
Is all that bright...that and some guy shouting
"Hey man ,you wanna turn that thing down?"

(chorus)
