------------

5 YEARS

It has been 5 years since I stepped off of that cruise ship that landed in Florida on Friday March 13th, 2020. Yes, Friday the 13th - that should have said something right there. Days after that I had bumpy slightly abortive AcousticPajamaParty #1, a Facebook affair, garbled sound and crappy camera and all.

248 episodes later - approximately 6,000 songs - I’m still at it. I serve me as I get to practice and keep my recall brain fresh on a weekly basis. I serve you because you don’t have to leave your living room to hear some live Vance music. You serve me by being there.

There are at least 3 people in wheelchairs, autistic people, agoraphobic people that tune in because it’s a low-mind-body-stress way of being at a show.

There’s at least 1 Black Canadian.

A plumber.

Gay folks.

Republicans.

Jews, atheists, a chef

At least 6 pets that people say are calmed during the 1.5 hours.

1 totally dissociative person who’s someone different depending on the day they’re listening.

3 cousins from my mother’s side.

2 from my Dad’s.

My brother.

My ex-manager.

My ex-booking agent

My best friend from college.

Music peers.

Model airplane hobby people.

Their children.

Neighbors.

A neighbor’s child.

Dan

Couples have vacationed together after meeting at the PJ Party.

It doesn’t cost anything unless you want to donate. And I give 10% of whatever folks send me to a local 501c3’s because there’s was always, always someone that had less than me during the pandemic - hell, anytime - and I am blessed

I’m still doing this thing because I forgot to stop.

I’m still doing this because I’m grateful. Thank you.
