~ I think my wildest dream music recording right now would be Luther Vandross singing John Prine’s “Hello In There”

~ There’s nothing intuitive about Leonard Bernstein’s music. Nothing. Playing it is hell. Hearing it back is amazement that he got the respective parts to work like they did. Utter genius. That said, I’m guessing he knew more about Romeo and Juliet than he did about Puerto Rican folks.

~ Stephen Sondheim studied under Leonard Bernstein. His music is also hard to do, often coming alive last minute whilst being played. Frank Sinatra’s version of “Send In The Clowns” is definitive for me - no offense to Judy Collins. Thinking a lot about that tune nowadays.

~ Yes, Marianna, go hear some music, as you are correct, it is healing.

~ That part when you get fired from a teaching job and it infuriates students so much that even months later one of them covers one of your songs in their recital

~ Actually John Prine and Luther Vandross on stage together would be pretty cool

OK yeah that’s compulsive, and I’m joking, but there’s some people out there really scuffling in ever increasing anxiety around food, housing, safety. You think the George Floyd protests and Jan 6 were big? I think something is coming.
