Who gets 10%: Resilient Sisterhood Project https://rsphealth.org/our-story/ The Resilient Sisterhood Project’s mission is to educate and empower women of African descent regarding common but rarely discussed diseases of the reproductive system that disproportionately affect them. We approach these diseases and associated issues through a cultural and social justice lens as we believe that poor knowledge of reproductive health is primarily related to health, racial, and socioeconomic disparities.

SONGWRITING 102

Here’s a *Vance 11* list on songwriting. I’d imagine it translates readily to most any creative endeavour at which you might be momentarily, slightly stuck:

1) sit down and try.

2) be willing to write down and sing absolute crap.

3) mimic the songwriting of someone you admire - yeah, try to write a song that sounds like a lost Joni Mitchell or Prince track.

4) take a song by someone you admire and write another verse.

5) take someone’s song and write a bridge where there wasn’t one.

6) write an answer song to someone else’s song.

7) write in pencil on a few big unlined sheets of paper.

8) draw pictures, tear corners, spill food and drink on these pages or your writing book.

9) remember, in songwriting, no matter how you got to the prom, you can go home with whomever you want. Just because a song started with that favorite line you like doesn’t mean the song lives for that line. Throw that line away and keep everything else.

10) break all the above rules and do something totally different.

11) sit down and try again.
