~ omg!

Why not?

~ Grateful and mindblown for the remarkable community of Vancefans and patrons full funding of my upcoming recording, with which I will further my career by selling as 8-tracks because might as well, right?, as I have no idea how to monetize and keep these CDs out of my basement nowadays and maybe even making the CD cover look like a drink coaster but grateful amen?

~ Grateful for what little wisdom I pulled together in listening to a very close friend carry on and on wide-eyed about mandates, alignment with the truckers, worries for his school-masked grandkids ending up learning interrupted like he did 50-plus ago, and how when I saw the fear in his eyes how I replied first and foremost how much I loved him.

~ Grateful for this week's memorials to Scott Alarik and 100-year old Harry Keshishian from my 2 great communities - music and model planes respectively - for what they did for my life and for my opportunity to witness quietly, sing them out, and wear a cool tie 2 days in a row.

~ Grateful for this immensely sunny day here, and how I really don’t mind the dank cloudy ones.

~ Grateful for the listening skills to hear out the neighbor whom I really don’t know well who took me into their confidence about their cancer diagnosis as I ran by because they think of me as friend. Grateful we have each other’s numbers now.

~ Grateful to have written the loving, apologetic letter to one who was really angry at me and in the midst of it realizing their perception of events was their very own and yet very real to them so yea I told them that I loved and respected them because that’s what matters most even tho my calendars and such say I was right as hell and they can actually go poop in their hat ok fine I’m not as Ticht Nacht Han as I’d like to be and so I’m a work in progress but ok breathe and lotus position legs that I will *never* be able to uncross and love, love, love.

~ Grateful for my 120K minivan, for my swept workshop, my running shoes, the little bits of rice cake that end up everywhere because they’re friggin rice cakes, for our 16+ Standard Poodle who never liked me and now dementedly poops in the house but always seems knows that I have chicken or orange slices.

~ Grateful that I know the difference between war and not war.

This living thing is a pretty interesting stretch of time. Grateful.
