IT’S MY BIRTHDAY SOON AND I RANT HOW I WANT TO…

My birthday is Tuesday 10/11 and I woke up today to do this writing and put something in it that could do some good, and I’m just broken at wondering what I can do for a world from my elitist perch that can tell you how many “y’s” are in Zelenskyy’s name now that the news is translating and spelling it correctly from the Cyrillic but have no idea without looking at wikipedia who the current president in Somalia is so maybe you might scream “well that’s racism at work” but some of the truth is that it’s so complicated, Somalia's current constitution ratified just a decade ago, fighting still active between rival factions, but I say “well people still need water and food” so I go to a link from NPR with the byline "Somali leaders in Boston are asking for the public's help to aid those affected by the famine in Somalia” and get ready to click, and I read closely that the link is from 2011 and I wonder what world we live in that we haven’t figured out how to get water and food to places so people can simply live irregardless of their civil war which maybe wouldn’t be civil war if millions and millions were’t dying of starvation, and maybe some big-assed, cross-ocean aqueduct or inter-global conveyor belt would work but maybe not because humans can be such assholes and they read some manifesto or historic book written centuries ago or another and decree that this is how one and another should live no matter what, but don’t you worry vancefan, as I’ll figure out some way in the next couple hours to either transport food and water in great mega-planes to afflicted areas or at least I’ll give you solace, a place to land after your long day, a chuckle here and there, and something to think about.
