RESPONSES TO STUFF

Nephew-by marriage responding to my buying Cracker Jack at the baseball game which was named Cracker Jane on the package:
“CrackerJack will always be Cracker Jack. My snacks aren’t pronoun positive”.

Me: “To be honest, I’m ok with the pronoun thing. It’s always been the “Cracker” part of the name that makes me and other Black peoples anxious.

Friend: “Yeah! You could be our Benson”

Me: “That’s racisss. You could have said Mr. French. Or Lurch. But no. This is why we deserve ripparashens.”

Me: “Sorry. No. I never saw this. I’m home now”. (I was getting a shingles shot so I really wasn’t looking much at my phone. Yeah, I’m surprised too)
