MARCH 27TH - 3 YEAR ANNIVERSARY PAJAMA PARTY ANNIVERSARY SHOW ANNIVERSARY
SOMETHING SPECIAL WILL HAPPEN...
-----------
GOOD SONGS = GOOD THINGS
You recall the “Sitting Uninvited On Your Front Porch With You” song I wrote and posted the lyrics to like 2 weeks back?
This I reprint with permission from a fan:
name: Mike
email: yes
message: I hope this gets to you
I've had the honor to see you several times over the years. I have a picture (somewhere) showing me sandwiched between you and Richie Havens when you guys played Concord NH. And I've periodically joined in your monday night stuff. Your interpretation of King of Rome still brings a tear.
This morning I read your latest email. I of course read the lyrics from "Sitting from your front porch...." I lost my wife 2 years ago. From the perspective of the widower, I want you to know, you nailed it, particularly the second verse. During those early months, I was blessed to have a couple men surround me and many times, just sit with me - with "crickets". If you were writing autobiographically, God Bless You. I can say with confidence that your friend/neighbor will never find the words that will accurately convey the depth of his appreciation, his gratitude, for the gift of your time, your care and your concern. So on his behalf and my own, allow me to say, thank you. I pray you never have to experience that type of loss. But we both know that's not a realistic expectation. As Joy Davidman is credited to have said (C. S. Lewis' wife) "if you are going to experience the joy of Love, you must accept the risk being hurt. That's the deal". (A poor paraphrase I'm afraid.)
Anyway, I can't wait to hear the music you'll put behind those lyrics. And I continue to hope you get to the [his city] area soon.
